He who guides His righteous servants to the right path for their salvation in the Hereafter. He who guides His servants to reach their goals .
Al-Hadi is an Attribute derived, linguistically, from hidaya, the Arabic word for guidance, which means: to attract someone to something, such as attracting the heart of a believer to al-Hadi, to the One Who provides such guidance. Guidance means bringing the hearts closer to the Almighty.
Guidance is following one’s sound reason and making choices to reach the desired goal. He guides the chosen one from among His servants to know his essence and carve out a path, where none existed.
He guides others to witness them and emulate their example, like in case of prophets, leading their followers.
قَالَ رَبُّنَا ٱلَّذِيٓ أَعۡطَىٰ كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ خَلۡقَهُۥ ثُمَّ هَدَىٰ
Qaala Rabbunal lazeee a’taa kulla shai’in khalqahoo summa hadaa
English Translation:
The Holy Quran (20:50)
“He said, ‘Our Lord is He who gave each thing its form and then guided [it].'”
Allah’s guidance is not just an attribute of showing people the path of faith. It is more encompassing than that. Each creation has been divinely guided to what is required of their journey through this life, towards the hereafter, in more ways than one.
- Allah continually shows the way by prompting the right choices.
- He guides them toward the right people who help.
- He sends prophets and messengers to guide mankind.
- He guides hearts to a knowledge of the Divine essence.
- He is the source of all guidance arising from the right knowledge.
“Then the Messenger will say: “O my Lord! truly my people took this Quran for just foolish nonsense.” Thus have We made for every prophet an enemy among the sinners: but ENOUGH IS THY LORD TO GUIDE and to help.”
